These terms apply to every booking made on this website, by email, by phone or through a travel agent. By reserving a trip you accept them on behalf of everyone in your booking.

2. Reservations and payment

  • A reservation made online holds your cabins (or the whole boat) for 48 hours. We check it and email you a secure Bank of Maldives payment link; you always have at least 24 hours to pay after it arrives.
  • Your booking is confirmed when we receive the 30% deposit (or the full amount). If payment isn't received before the hold ends, the cabins are released.
  • The balance is due 60 days before departure; we send a payment link for it. Bookings made less than 60 days before departure are paid in full.
  • Prices are in US dollars (USD) and you pay in US dollars. Bank or card charges on your side, and any currency conversion by your bank, are yours to pay.
  • Card payments are processed by the Bank of Maldives (BML); the merchant outlet country is the Maldives. When you pay, you are redirected to the BML Payment Gateway to process the payment; you enter your card details there over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we never see or store your card number.
  • Please keep a copy of your booking confirmation and payment receipts for your records.
  • Refunds due under these terms are made to the card or account you paid with. How long they take to reach you depends on your bank.
  • If the balance isn't paid on time, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you (see section 4).

3. Prices, taxes and what's included

  • Prices shown before taxes are subject to a 10% service charge and 17% Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST, calculated on the price plus service charge), plus the Maldives green tax of $12 per guest per night (children under 2 are exempt). The total you pay is shown before you reserve.
  • What is and isn't included is listed on the booking pages and in your confirmation. Drinks from the bar, snorkelling gear, lunch in Hulhumalé on arrival or departure days, and personal expenses are not included.
  • A fuel surcharge may apply for custom itineraries, or if fuel prices rise sharply before departure. We tell you before it applies.
  • Taxes are set by the Maldives government; if they change before your trip, the new rates apply.

4. If you cancel

Cancellations must be sent in writing (email or WhatsApp). The date we receive it counts. The following charges apply:

  • More than 60 days before departure: The 30% deposit is kept. It can instead be moved once to another available date within 12 months.
  • 60 to 30 days before departure: 50% of the total price.
  • Less than 30 days before departure, or no-show: 100% of the total price.

5. Changes to your booking

  • You can ask to change dates or add guests at any time; we do our best, subject to availability and any price difference.
  • Replacing a guest with someone else is free if we have the new guest's details before departure.
  • Reducing the number of guests is treated as a partial cancellation under section 4.

6. If we cancel or change the trip

  • The itinerary is a plan, not a promise: the captain decides the route and activities each day according to weather, sea conditions, safety and local rules.
  • If we have to cancel a trip before departure (for example for technical reasons, or weather that makes it unsafe), you can choose another date or a full refund of what you paid us.
  • If a trip is cut short by events beyond our control (severe weather, government orders, illness on board, force majeure), we refund the unused nights where we can, but we are not responsible for other costs such as flights or hotels.

7. Guest details, arrival and departure

  • The Maldives authorities need a guest list with passport details before departure: please complete the guest details page within 30 days of departure (or as soon as possible for later bookings).
  • Passports must be valid for the whole trip and meet the entry rules of the Maldives. Visas, flights and travel documents are your responsibility.
  • Our team meets you at the airport and looks after you in Hulhumalé until boarding in the afternoon. On the last morning you disembark after breakfast. Depending on your flights you may need lunch in Hulhumalé (not included).

8. Children

  • Children of any age are welcome. Infants under 2 travel free; children 2–11 sharing a cabin with an adult pay the child rate shown when booking.
  • A boat is not a childproof environment (open decks, ladders, the tender, deep water). Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times, including life jackets.

9. Safety, health and conduct

  • Please follow the captain's and crew's instructions at all times, especially during tender transfers and water activities.
  • Snorkelling, surfing, fishing and swimming are at your own risk. Tell us before the trip about any medical condition, pregnancy, disability or limited swimming ability that could affect your safety.
  • Alcohol may not be brought into the Maldives. Drinks are available from the bar on board and go on your bar tab.
  • The captain may refuse or end a guest's participation if their behaviour puts others, the crew, the boat or the reef at risk, without refund.
  • Please respect the reef and marine life: no touching or standing on coral, no collecting shells or coral, and follow the crew's environmental guidance.
  • You are responsible for damage you cause to the boat or its equipment, beyond normal wear.

10. Insurance and liability

  • We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation, medical treatment and emergency evacuation, and the activities you plan to do.
  • We are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings, or for injury, illness or loss not caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Maldivian law.

11. Bookings through travel agents

  • Travel agents and tour operators book at their agreed net rates. The agent is our contact for the booking and is responsible for paying us; their own terms apply between them and their clients.
  • Guests booked through an agent still agree to sections 6 to 10 of these terms while on board.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives. If something goes wrong, please tell us first so we can put it right; any dispute that can't be settled between us goes to the courts of the Maldives.

13. Delivery of the service

  • We sell boat trips, not goods: nothing is shipped to you.
  • Your booking confirmation and the link to your guest-details page are sent by email as soon as your payment is received. The trip itself is provided on board NOAH in the Maldives on the dates of your booking.

14. Import and export restrictions

  • We don't sell or ship goods across borders.
  • You are responsible for following Maldives customs rules for what you bring with you. Alcohol, pork products, narcotics and pornography, among other things, may not be brought into the Maldives.
  • Taking coral, shells, sand or turtle products out of the Maldives is prohibited.
